Marie Saldana
Marie was united in marriage to Paul Leonard Saldana on February 11, 1937 at Centerville, Iowa. She worked as a cook at the Continental Hotel and in the Laundry at both the St. Joseph's Hospital and the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville, IA. Marie was preceded in death by: her parents; three daughters, Lena Anita Saldana, Marilyn Hogg and Carolyn Henderson; six brothers, Bobby, Colman, Bill, Charlie, Danny and James Tovrea and her sister, Katie. Surviving family members include: her husband, Paul Saldana of Centerville, IA; four daughters, Dolores Ruth and her husband, Jim of Oregon, IL, Pauline Henderson and her husband, Larry of Centerville, IA, Janice Kaster and her husband, Jerry of Urbana, OH and Anita Harper and her husband, Jim of Centerville, IA; two sons, Jerry Saldana and his wife, Carolyn and Larry Saldana and his wife, Mary of Centerville, IA; three sisters, Addie Lou Cole of Des Moines, IA, Magie Nazrenth of New Orleans, LA and Mary Rouse of Unionville, MO; one brother, Tommy Tovrea of Wisconsin; eighteen grandchildren and thirty-six great-grandchildren. A Mass of The Resurrection will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2003 at 11:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville, IA with Father Joe Miller C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville, IA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2003 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, IA with a Prayer Service beginning at 6:30 pm. The family will be at the funeral home to receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church and may be left at or mailed to the Schmidt Family Funeral Home, 501 N. 18th St., Centerville, IA 52544. |
